Susan Logie texted me on Saturday, telling me they had a musician friend staying for the weekend who wanted to join them in a Sunday Morning Service at Mesa Verde with Vernon and the gang. We have been so moved by their frequent visiting the past couple of weeks, but Chris is going back to work this week and most of the kids are getting into their high school/college schedules again.
They sang some Beatles songs that they do so well together and Chris had learned another Kinks song for Vernon. We were graced by more originals by the marvelous young Bella (my latest favorite singer/songwriter.) Their visiting musicians were Alicia, who joined in singing, Josh, fantastic on the trumpet (and also a big hit with nonagenarian Anita), and Dolce on cello. (This is her band, btw.)
Justine busied herself catching ladybugs and training them to be her pets. Apparently she taught this one to ‘sit.’
They ended their session with Amazing Grace. I can’t think of a better couple of words that sums this morning up. Amazing Grace. Here you go…
One more thing, as I think it deserves mention: when I walked into the bedroom first thing to see him, he said, “Hi, Allison.” No one prompted him! I was shocked—in a good way, obviously! He wasn’t feeling great so his mood and memory deteriorated a little after that. But I heard it, I did!
Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost but now am found,
was blind but now I see.

Allison,
What a good week-end for you and your family. One of the ladies that read every blog I put on Facebook said that God is working in His mysterious way in your life. He is with you everyday as you going about your duties.
Love,
Becky
What an amazing film! That ladybug is having fun, or it would just fly away. If this blog was a book, it would have to be made up of several thick volumes and this would be such a good place to end the first one, I think, with those last lines. Lots of love
