It was a very long day…one of those days where nothing comes together as you’d hoped.
Driving home tonight, Maki could tell I was tired and disappointed. “Art night?” he asked.
“I have to do a bunch of other stuff. I haven’t really been home all day.”
“I think we should just make some art. Do the other stuff tomorrow.”
“I don’t know…” I sighed. “It’s late. I’m tired. It was a hard day…it just started badly and never got better. ”
“Then you should end it well.”
What a thoughtful, caring young man he is turning out to be.
And so on his wise advice we did these…
(Justine and I collaborated on these two. Spot the kidney?)

So sad to hear the news, will continue to pray! Much much love.
Indeed what a mature thoughtful young man that You have helped raise!
Allison,
You do have a very thoughtful young man living with you. Must make you very proud to have him speak for his “Mom” and take care of her. Very well thought out for a young man. The pix are beautiful.
Hugs,
Becky
Hi Allison, I’m Michael Glynn, Jim Glynn’s younger brother. I work for the OPO (organ procurement organization) in Iowa, Iowa Donor Network. I think your artists rendering of the kidney was great. As you are trying to get Vernon approved for a kidney transplant, I wanted to make sure you were aware of how direct donation might be able to help if he gets approved. If you have someone willing to donate a kidney for Vernon, but they aren’t a match, if they are still willing to donate they might be able to put together a chain so that Vernon could get a kidney much sooner. There are stories out there you can read, just google “kidney transplant chain”. I am repeatedly inspired by the story of Vernon’s recovery and the goings on of your family. On of you recent posts inspired me to purchase some wood carving chisels and try my hand at carving, something I’ve always wanted to do. I will continue to keep Vernon, you, Justine, and Maki in my prayers.
Hi Michael!
I’ve been meaning to get back to your comment. Sorry it took so long. Thank you for stopping and writing and passing on your encouragement. I’d love to know how the woodcarving goes. As you may have already read, it looks like our kidney transplant path is on hold for now. Maybe temporarily? I love the idea of the transplant chain though…should it come to that. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, especially since you know so much about these things. It’s not out of the question entirely, of course. But for now.
beautiful paintings..very different .. but love all the colours you have used … i hope the creative time with Maki and Justine helped to chill out xx
xx love to you all , always xx
Nothing like some time being creative to boost the hurts & sorrows of life. Fantastic visual on the kidney. I would put that on the frig as an encouragement to Vernon getting a kidney. I have a friend who is only 26 and has been on dialysis for 6 years & waiting for a kidney. She got a call out of the blue last Friday to come to the hospital asap and now has a new kidney! Miracles do happen!
I’m so glad you are such a team. The artwork is beautiful! Lots of love and hugs!
I hoped you’d see this, Synnove. I knew you would be impressed by him. I think his artwork is highly influenced by Vernon these days too…write me (on here or elsewhere) about your thoughts on that please?
This artwork lifts me up!! So spirit filled!! Art always delivers to our souls. Love and hugs. Mary
