My wonderfully sensitive and gifted friend, Belle Logie, gave me the above painting for my birthday last year. It’s a “Waterloo Sunset” with Vernon and me up on the bridge.
This week, she sent me a song she wrote about us. She said it was okay for me to share it here. I think its beautiful and sad. Sometimes, that’s the best kind of song.

You have so many gifted friends.
Sometimes grief can scream at a soul, “you are alone!” I hope you never feel that way. I hope the love of others around you reminds you that you are loved. We may not walk as closely as when it was so very needed, but we are here. I do marvel at how you process life. With all your inquisitiveness, I think you really get to the core of it.
love you Allie, thanks for posting this. I’m sure when she finds out, she will blush.
i did ask her permission first. 🙂
thank you, Susan. Love you so much.
We met twice last October, at a grief group. I sent you an email a couple months later that was returned…so I looked you up. Found your blog. You have a beautiful family, talented friends, a “real” perspective that is a gift, a way of traveling through memories that are raw and deep… a willingness to work through the difficult. Not with bitterness holding you but with the Love that surrounds you and is beyond measure. Thank you for sharing your journey. I am truly blessed.
Thank you Peggy! I must have given you the wrong email? Thanks for trying again!
