I took the kids up today to see Vernon. Justine was all ready to play doctor in her dress-up uniform. And Maki had loaded the iPad with music to share. But we were stopped at the door with the telltale signs of a patient in isolation.
Thankfully, Justine was allowed to go in as long as she suited up.
Maki’s already a pro at this sort of thing.
We were told that if all goes well, Vernon should be back to normal by Thursday.
In the meantime, Dr. Justine made sure his vital signs were fine.
And took a short video.
Maki did his best to keep the conversation going…
but it wasn’t long before we had to admit it just wasn’t a good visiting day for Dad.
So we left him to get his rest.
Here is the meta video of Justine interviewing her dad on camera. She’s certainly been picking up some skills.
And her gift.

Justine is a great little therapist!
Well all we have to say is, “the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree!” Justines interview was precise and to the point, we loved it! We’re thinking and praying for you! When do you want me to finish the chairs….or come help paint the rooms????
I finished the rooms yesterday, Nancy! But I bought new paint for the lighter chair. RED! Total change of direction in the end!
Allison,
Glad you took Justine and Maki to see their father. Even if he didn’t act like he wanted you and the little guys there he may think about your being there later.
You are still in out prayers and thoughts.
Becky
Love seeing you guys come together as a family unit and Vernon looked so happy to have his family surrounding him. I posed some business questions to Vernon a couple days ago during a visit and he was very helpful, and I had to smile at the insights he provided were so very Vernon. Love to all of you! <3
