Waking Up

Today was a good day.

Forget Hollywood’s ideas of waking from a coma.  They have to fit a short scene into 90 minutes.  Who wants to watch a 3-month movie, really?  Forget what you thought you knew. (At least I have had to.)

Every case is different, but this is what Vernon’s looks like….today.

    Thank you Allison for sharing the film. I remember you told about yawns when Vernons jaw was newly operated. This looks very comfortable now, good the coma lasted long enough to minimize pain. Time is a strange thing. It flies and then it crawls at the same time….Lots of love

    I LOVED the video and the eyebrows lifts in particular. You mentioned that a speech therapist comes tomorrow. Once Chris had a throat infection and lost all speech for over three months. His speech therapist encouraged him to begin by humming as it helps the vocal chords remember what they are to do. Just a thought:)

    Praise God! Every moment of progress is precious and just amazing! we continue to pray for Vernon to “open” up and slowly but surely recover. He is waking up!
